Hi Everyone,

Nikos and I hope that you will all be able to make it to our wedding day and of course enjoy your days in Greece.

We want to ensure that your time in Greece is fabulous and so we have started to put togther some information for your benefit. We will update our blog and will be putting helpful tips/website and links for your benefit.

ATHENS CITY AND PLACES OF INTEREST




ATHENS CITY CENTRE

  • Akropolis: the remains of the ancient city with the famous temple of Parthenon.
    Ancient theatre of Irodou Attikou is on the way down from Akropolis to Thission.
  • Thission is a neighbourhood full of cafes and bars.
  • Plaka: Historic neighbourhood next to ancient cites of Athens with lovely shops, cafes and taverns.
  • Monastiraki Flea Market
  • The Agora- Athens Central Market
  • Parliament: it is in the centre of Athens opposite Syntagma Square, this is very near to the church where we will marry.
  • Great bars and clubs to be found all along the coastline.

OTHER PLACES TO VISIT IN ATHENS:

  • Driving to east from Glyfada (see map), towards Voula, Vouliagmeni (here there is a small lake worth visiting at night), Varkiza you can find beaches, taverns and bars.
  • Mikrolimano: Is one step before Piraeus (the port), it is a small harbour.
    Here you can find taverns with fresh fish and lovely bars. Check out the bar called Istioploikos at the end of the harbour.

This is the port where you can take daily excursion and trips to the Greek Islands.
