ATHENS CITY AND PLACES OF INTEREST
ATHENS CITY CENTRE
- Akropolis: the remains of the ancient city with the famous temple of Parthenon.
Ancient theatre of Irodou Attikou is on the way down from Akropolis to Thission. - Thission is a neighbourhood full of cafes and bars.
- Plaka: Historic neighbourhood next to ancient cites of Athens with lovely shops, cafes and taverns.
- Monastiraki Flea Market
- The Agora- Athens Central Market
- Parliament: it is in the centre of Athens opposite Syntagma Square, this is very near to the church where we will marry.
- Great bars and clubs to be found all along the coastline.
OTHER PLACES TO VISIT IN ATHENS:
- Driving to east from Glyfada (see map), towards Voula, Vouliagmeni (here there is a small lake worth visiting at night), Varkiza you can find beaches, taverns and bars.
- Mikrolimano: Is one step before Piraeus (the port), it is a small harbour.
Here you can find taverns with fresh fish and lovely bars. Check out the bar called Istioploikos at the end of the harbour.
